iBlue - Blue light filter for Android

iBlue blue light filter is a free to use application to filter blue-light from phones

Highlights:

  • This is an easy to use and user friendly app for Android.

  • This app is very small in size and does not require any special permissions.
  • The UI looks as shown in below image.

  • There are multiple blue light filter colors and options to automatically schedule to turn On and Off the filter.
  • There are options for setting the brightness and filter intensity levels.
  • You can also set the On and Off time to automatically filter blue screens.
  • You can switch between different filters and choose the one which suits best by clicking on Half Preview option to know the real time difference between with and without a filter.

  • There will be a widget/toggle switch button in the notifications bar which can be turned off by clicking on the settings menu and selecting 'Hide Notification' from this app.

  3. The app asks 'permission to draw over other apps' which should be enabled to filter blue light on all apps; Some apps may show notification stating "App overlay detected".
  4. Newer versions of Android have built-in features to reduce blue light and does not require to install and use this app.
  5. This application was used on an Android device before writing this post.
